What occupations are eligible for the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Business visa?
This applies to jobs in the humanities, such as interpreting/translation, trade work, and fashion designers, as well as jobs that require skills or knowledge in the sciences, such as engineers, programmers, and designers.
I graduated from an overseas university and have a bachelor's degree. Can I apply for a humanities specialist visa?
As a requirement for applying for a humanities specialist visa, if you graduated from an overseas university, the university you graduated from must be equivalent to or higher than a Japanese university. In addition, the relationship between the content of the bachelor's degree and the work you will be responsible for will also be examined.
If I change jobs after obtaining a humanities specialist visa, do I need to do anything until the next renewal?
If you change jobs, obtain a "Certificate of Employment Eligibility." By obtaining this "Certificate of Employment Eligibility," you can prove to your new employer that you are legally eligible to work. Furthermore, the amount of materials to be submitted during renewal will be less than usual.
How long does the review take?
Reviews are conducted in the order of applications and usually take 1 to 3 months. However, if there are instructions for additional documents, it may take longer than 3 months.
If my application is rejected once, can I apply again?
You can try to apply as many times as you like, so we recommend that you reapply without giving up. I understand that you have been denied permission in the past, but I believe that the reason was stated when you were notified of the denial by the Legal Affairs Bureau. In order for your application to be approved, you must thoroughly clear the listed reasons for disapproval.

Consultations are always free of charge. In addition to telephone consultations, we also offer free face-to-face consultations. Please rest assured that we will provide an estimate beforehand and obtain your consent before proceeding with any charges.
How will I obtain certificates such as resident card?
We can obtain certificates other than those that can only be obtained by the client. (If we acquire it, we will charge the actual cost) We also translate documents in Chinese, Korean, English, and Vietnamese. *Separate translation fee (1,000 yen/sheet) will be charged.
I live in an area where I can't go to the office, can you help me?
Please contact us by phone or email first. If necessary, we will travel to meet you on a business trip.
Will you accommodate me if I can't come on weekdays due to work?
If you make a reservation in advance, we can also provide consultations in the evenings and on weekends. You can come and visit us at a time that is convenient for you.
Do I need to go to the immigration office myself?
There's no need for that. We have an administrative scrivener who handles applications, so if you make a request, we will handle the application process on your behalf.
