Application for permission to travel on prohibited roads

If you have an unavoidable reason to travel on a road that is prohibited by a road sign, you may do so by obtaining permission from the police chief who has jurisdiction over the prohibited road.
This is called a "permission to use a prohibited road."
Subject of traffic permit
1. When entering and leaving a vehicle for storage in a storage location such as a garage or vacant lot
2. When it is necessary to transport a person who has difficulty walking
3. Circumstances stipulated by the Public Safety Commission and the detailed laws and regulations
(Transportation of items essential to daily life, collection and delivery of cargo, ceremonial occasions, etc.)

About application
The application counter will be the traffic counter of the police station that has jurisdiction over the road where vehicles are prohibited.
The main attached documents are:
・Copy of vehicle inspection certificate
・Schematic map showing the area or section of road to be traveled
・If there is a driver other than the main driver, a list of drivers

It takes about 3 to 5 days from application to permit issuance.
Other Information
If a licensed vehicle is to drive through the prohibited area, a mark must be posted in a visible location on the front of the vehicle.
Applications must be made once after specifying the date, time, location, and business for each vehicle for each permit.
However, if the vehicle must be used on a regular basis, the license period is within 3 years for vehicles that have a reason to use the road on a regular basis, and within 1 year for other vehicles.
