What is unrestricted loading permission?

A special vehicle permit is required when a vehicle whose size or weight exceeds the limits set by the Road Traffic Act is allowed to pass.

An extra-limit load permit is an additional permit required.

Cases in which a special vehicle permit is required include when the width of a loaded cargo exceeds 2.5 meters, but since the cargo cannot be divided, the length, width, and height of the vehicle's loading platform are subject to legal restrictions. If you exceed the limits set by , you will need a "permit for loading outside the limit" in addition to the special vehicle traffic permit.

In other words, when attempting to load larger items onto a vehicle that has already exceeded the limits set forth in the Road Traffic Act, a ``permit for loading outside the limits'' is required.

When permission is required

Length: If the length exceeds 1.1 times the length of the car
Width: If it exceeds the width of the car
Height: If the height exceeds 3.8 meters when loading cargo (4.1 meters for designated height roads)



If any of these apply, you are eligible.

For example, items that cannot be divided or cut, such as utility poles and roofing materials, and that exceed the length of the vehicle are covered.

For special vehicle traffic permits, the length and width of the vehicle must be declared when applying, but for example, if the length exceeds 10%, a permit for loading outside the limit is required in addition to the special vehicle permit.

Limits allowed

【length】

Up to 1.5 times the length of the vehicle

Loading methods up to 1.3 times the length of the vehicle in both the front and rear are permitted.

If the total length of the loaded object exceeds 15m, there will be a condition for night driving (10pm to 7am).

【width】

Vehicle width plus 1.0m (however, the overall width must not exceed 3.5m)



Loading that exceeds the width by 0.5m on both the left and right sides is permitted.

If you obtain a permit for over-the-limit loading that exceeds the width, there will always be a condition for night driving.

【height】


Up to 4.3m including the height of the vehicle (up to 3m depending on the vehicle).

If the height exceeds 4m, there will be a condition for night driving.
