Common requirements

・Not be affiliated with an organized crime group

- You have not received duplicate subsidies for the same purpose from national/local governments

- Ability to properly spend and manage supporting documents for eligible expenses

① Corporations and sole proprietors operating in Japan

- Businesses that introduce energy-saving equipment to their factories, offices, etc.

・The facility will be able to continue to use the equipment installed through the subsidized project even after the project is completed, and report on the energy-saving effects.

②Small and medium-sized enterprises, etc.

・Corporations and individual business owners whose capital and number of employees meet the definitions in the Small and Medium Enterprise Basic Law

- Non-profit organizations such as medical corporations, social welfare corporations, educational corporations, and NPOs are also eligible.

・Includes sole proprietors who file blue tax returns

③Large companies

・If you are a "specified business operator" under the Energy Conservation Act

・Submit a mid- to long-term plan and have it certified as "appropriate" by the Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry.

・The energy-saving benchmark evaluation in the most recent Energy Conservation Act periodic report is "S class" or "A class"

　Or, the mid- to long-term plan must state the expected achievement of the 2030 target.

(III) Equipment-based type

Business requirements: Introduction of highly efficient equipment with high energy-saving effects (designated equipment)

Designated facilities that meet the energy consumption efficiency standards set by SII in advance and are registered and publicized as eligible for subsidies

*This also applies to equipment designated as "other high-performance equipment recognized by SII" that does not fall under the above category.

Energy saving effect requirements:

Projects that meet any of the following requirements within the renewal scope on a crude oil equivalent basis:

*Businesses that are not required to submit periodic reports under the Energy Conservation Act (businesses other than specified businesses, etc.) must formulate a mid- to long-term plan for energy rationalization (prepared in a format specified by SII).

(IV) Energy demand optimization type

Business requirements: ⓓ Introduction of EMS (Energy Management System) equipment

EMS equipment that meets the "EMS system requirements" specified by SII, has been confirmed by SII in advance, and has been registered and published as a system or equipment eligible for subsidies.

*Subsidies are available only when combined with "(III) Equipment-based Type."

Energy saving effect requirements:

1) Install an EMS that satisfies the system requirements predetermined by SII and that has been registered and published as eligible equipment for subsidies, and grasp, display, and analyze the energy consumption status of each facility or process within the scope of the installation, and implement operational improvements.

② Create a mid- to long-term energy conservation plan using EMS and publicize the results of improvements (a 2% improvement in crude oil equivalent is the target).
