20 years since the cosmetics manufacturing and sales license system was established

The licensing system for cosmetics manufacturing and sales businesses has been revised under the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act (formerly the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act).

It was introduced in 2005 (Heisei 17).

Under this system, in order to distribute cosmetics on the market, a license for "manufacturing" and "manufacturing and sales" is required.

Businesses are now required to establish quality control and safety management systems.

This year marks exactly 20 years since the system began.

Manufacturing and sales licenses are valid for five years, and this year is expected to be a year in which renewal applications will be concentrated.

If you do not apply for renewal before the expiration date, your license will expire.

Points to note when applying for renewal
