We will explain the range of "children" that are recognized as family members.
Basically, the condition is that you are a minor under the laws of your home country and you are not married.

If you wish to bring over the children of a foreign national married to a Japanese person (so-called "stepchildren"),
Please note that this will qualify you as a "long-term resident". (Procedurally, there is not much difference)
