This is Yoshimura.
I often get asked, ``Which is easier to get permission for, permanent residence or naturalization?'' ”,
“Which procedure is easier? ” is asked.
Many people are confused about which procedure to take.
However, from our point of view as experts, permanent residence and naturalization cannot be compared.
Permanent residence is a convenient preferential treatment given by Japan to foreigners who are recognized as having no problems.
Naturalization means changing your nationality.
Of course, if you become naturalized, it will be easier to live in Japan.
It also becomes easier to go abroad.
However, they are treated as foreigners in their home country, which is the country where they were born, and suffer from inconvenience.
Even if you want to return to your home country in the future when you are old, it will not be easy to do so.
Please think carefully when considering permanent residence or naturalization.
