Posted: May 2025, 5
Applications for Coolnet Tokyo's fiscal year 7 solar power generation and storage battery subsidies will open on May 5th!
This time, we will explain the latest information on the "Cool Net Tokyo" subsidy system implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for fiscal year 7, the changes from the previous year (fiscal year 2025), and the aims of Tokyo's energy policy behind it. In particular, there have been important revisions to the storage battery subsidy this year. If you are considering taking advantage of the subsidy, please refer to this article.
What is Coolnet Tokyo's subsidy program?
- This is a subsidy system implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as part of its measures against global warming. In order to promote the introduction of renewable energy in homes and apartment complexes, the system subsidizes part of the costs of installing solar power generation systems and storage batteries.
- The objectives of this system are (2) to improve energy self-sufficiency, (XNUMX) to reduce COXNUMX emissions, and (XNUMX) to secure energy in the event of a disaster. In particular, with the risk of an earthquake directly beneath the Tokyo metropolitan area being pointed out, increasing energy independence within households has become an important policy issue.
- The application process is as follows: "Pre-application" → "Contract and construction implementation" → "Subsidy application and performance report"
Application flow
1. Advance application (required before signing a contract)
・Prepare an estimate: Obtain an estimate for the installation of the target equipment (solar power generation system and storage battery).
・Electronic application: From the official website of Cool Net Tokyo,
Fill in the necessary information and submit a pre-application by attaching the necessary documents such as a quotation.
・Notice of receipt: After you apply, a notice of receipt will be issued.
Once you receive this notice, you can proceed with the contract and construction work.
2. Contract and construction implementation
・Contract conclusion: After submitting your advance application, we will conclude a contract regarding the installation of the target equipment.
・Commencement of construction: Construction will begin after the contract is signed.
Be sure to have thorough discussions with the contractor regarding the details of the work and the schedule.
3. Grant application and performance report
・After construction is completed: Once construction is completed, we will promptly apply for subsidy and report on performance.
・Submission of necessary documents: To apply for issuance, you will need to submit contracts, receipts, photos before and after installation, equipment specifications, etc.
Several documents are required.
・Submission deadline: Applications must be submitted within one year of the advance application.
Please note that you will not be able to receive the subsidy if you miss the deadline.
4. Screening and grant decision
・Review: Cool Net Tokyo will review the submitted documents.
5. Receiving the subsidy
・Grant payment: After the grant decision is made, the grant will be transferred to the designated account.
Subsidy system for fiscal year 7: Overview and subsidy amount
● Solar power generation system subsidy
The amount of solar power generation subsidy for fiscal year 7 remains unchanged from the previous year, as follows:
| Target | Power Generation Capacity | Subsidy unit price |
|---|---|---|
| New housing | 3.6kW or less | 12 yen/kW (upper limit 36 yen) |
| 〃 | Over 3.6kW | 10 yen/kW (less than 50kW) |
| Existing housing | 3.75kW or less | 15 yen/kW (upper limit 36 yen) |
| 〃 | Over 3.75kW | 12 yen/kW (less than 50kW) |
● Subsidies for battery storage systems
The following revisions were made to storage batteries. The previous subsidy system was designed to provide high subsidies (up to 19 yen/kWh) for small storage battery capacities. For this reason, subsidies tended to be concentrated on households that installed products in a relatively high price range.
In the fiscal year 7 system, the subsidy has been changed to a flat rate of 12 yen/kWh, making it possible for support to be distributed more fairly to a greater number of applicants. The aim is to achieve both optimal budget allocation and efficient energy investment.
| Item | Fiscal Year 6 | Fiscal Year 7 |
|---|---|---|
| Subsidy unit price | Maximum 19 yen/kWh (less than 6.34kWh) 15 yen/kWh (6.34kWh or more) | A flat rate of 12 yen/kWh |
| Auxiliary conditions | Solar installation or renewable energy contracts are "preferable" | Solar installation or renewable energy contracts are "essential" |
Utilize this year's subsidies smoothly with professional support!
The application process requires a lot of paperwork and specialized information, which can be confusing and anxiety-provoking for first-time applicants.
There are also restrictions on the timing of application and contract, and there are cases where people are told they are ineligible because they signed a contract before applying, or they can't prepare the necessary documents in time. However, our company supported over 400 applications to "Cool Net Tokyo" last year alone, and we will fully back up your application with our extensive track record and know-how.
Please leave it to us with confidence.
