What are the visa procedures if I change jobs?
Posted: May 2013, 8
The new residence management system started in July last year, but do you remember the procedures?
① If there is a change in name, nationality/region, date of birth, or gender
② If there is a change in the affiliated institution
③ In case of divorce with spouse, etc.
If there is any change, you must notify the nearest immigration office within 14 days.
(From June of this year, the electronic notification system of the Immigration Bureau can be used.

In the case of a so-called job change, this falls under ②.
If you have a residence status that allows you to work such as "Specialist in Humanities/International Services", "Technology", or "Skilled Worker",
You must notify the Immigration Bureau within 14 days of the change.
If this notification is delayed, you may be subject to penalties.
If you have resigned from your employer, immediately notify the Immigration Bureau!
