[Coolnet Tokyo] Changes in solar and battery applications from the previous year

Coolnet Tokyo's application system for introducing solar power generation and storage batteries has undergone several changes since last year in order to further promote the adoption of renewable energy by Tokyo residents.

This article provides an excerpt and explanation of the changes that have been made to Coolnet Tokyo's solar and battery applications from fiscal year 2024 to fiscal year 2025. Understanding these changes will be useful information for anyone considering applying.

Overall business

Extension of project period

The project period for the "Project to Promote Disaster-Resistant and Healthy Insulated and Solar-Powered Homes" has been extended until fiscal year 9.

Solar system

Increase in functional PV slots

An additional 8 yen limit has been added to the amount that can be added to modules (solar panels) that qualify as functional PV.

Until last year, the only options were 1 yen, 2 yen, and 5 yen.

Changes in required documents

Submission of a warranty certificate is now required.

Therefore, documents such as the "shipping certificate" that have been submitted until now will be deemed incomplete and will be subject to correction.

Storage battery

Target requirements

In the previous fiscal year, battery storage packages were eligible for subsidies even if a solar power generation system was not installed, but from this fiscal year, the eligibility requirements are that the solar power system is already installed or is installed at the same time as the battery storage system, or that a contract for a renewable energy power menu has been signed.

Subsidy cap

The item "3/4 of eligible expenses" has been removed from this year.

The upper limits for this year are as follows:

(The subsidy calculation formula has also been partially changed since last year.)

・Battery storage package (battery storage system)

Storage capacity: 12 yen/kWh (upper limit is the subsidized expenses (excluding tax))

*A solar power generation system must already be installed/installed at the same time, or a contract must be made for a renewable energy power menu.

・Addition of storage battery units

Storage capacity: 8 yen/kWh (upper limit is the subsidized expenses (excluding tax))

* Solar power generation system must be installed

・Energy management equipment and IoT related equipment

Half of the eligible expenses (maximum 1 yen/household)

*Participation in demand response demonstration (required)
